Just for You Lab

See how the Lord sends His messages, learn from His servants how to receive them, and shape a private plan for general conference.

How does the Lord send His messages?

Read 2 Chronicles 36:15, Amos 3:7, Doctrine and Covenants 1:38 and Doctrine and Covenants 21:4–6. Some phrases show the way the Lord sends a message. Others show why it matters. Decide where each belongs.

“sent to them by his messengers”
2 Chronicles 36:15

“because he had compassion on his people”
2 Chronicles 36:15

“he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets”
Amos 3:7

“whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same”
Doctrine and Covenants 1:38

“the gates of hell shall not prevail against you”
Doctrine and Covenants 21:6

Elder Neil L. Andersen testified that “general conference is one of the very important times He gives direction to His Church and to us personally.” The Voice of the Lord, October 2017.

Learn from His servants

Four messages about getting ready

These four statements come from Lesson 205. Read each one carefully, then choose what it invites you to do.

Elder Neil L. Andersen: “Think about the things that most concern you. You might write them down and pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ that answers can be provided to you.”

What is he inviting you to do?

President Henry B. Eyring: “If you trust God enough to listen for His message in every sermon, song, and prayer in this conference, you will find it.”

What is he inviting you to do?

President Jeffrey R. Holland: “If … you listen by the Spirit, some one of us will touch on your circumstance, sending a personal prophetic epistle just to you.”

What is he inviting you to do?

President Russell M. Nelson: “Please make notes of thoughts that catch your attention and those that come into your mind and stay in your heart. Prayerfully ask the Lord to confirm that what you have heard is true.”

What is he inviting you to do?

Practise taking notes

What was said, or just for me?

Elder Robert D. Hales taught: “When I take notes at conference, I do not always write down exactly what the speaker is saying; I note the personalized direction the Spirit is giving me.” General Conference: Strengthening Faith and Testimony, October 2013.

The four sample notes below are invented for practice; they are not from any talk. Decide which kind each one is.

“He told a story about a lighthouse.”

“I should say sorry to my brother today.”

“The talk had three points about prayer.”

“I felt that Heavenly Father knows about my exam worry.”

Take it to the journal

My plan for general conference

Lesson 205 invites you to write a goal for receiving the Lord’s messages. Choose one from each row to shape a page for your own journal.

In His message to me, I hope for:

The part of my plan I most need:

PRIVATE JOURNAL: Keep your questions and your plan outside this app. There is nowhere to type here, and nothing you choose is stored or sent; it disappears when the page is refreshed.
When is it? Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026: four two-hour sessions, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time each day. In the United Kingdom that is 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Every session can also be watched later. General conference on ChurchofJesusChrist.org
