Isaiah 51–52 • Hear. Hearken. Awake.
Hearken to Me Lab
Find the word the Lord repeats, work out who is calling “Awake” to whom, and see which invitation He may be giving you.
As we keep our covenants with the Lord, He will bless us with comfort, joy and gladness.

Hear who is speaking
Who is calling “Awake” to whom?
“Awake, awake” comes three times in Isaiah 51:9–17 and Isaiah 52:1–2, but not always from the same voice. Read each verse and decide who is calling to whom.
“Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord”
Isaiah 51:9
“Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem”
Isaiah 51:17
“Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion”
Isaiah 52:1
