Isaiah 54 • Tent. Names. Promises. A message.
With Great Mercies Lab
Pitch Isaiah’s tent, meet the Saviour by His names, finish His promises, and shape a message for someone who feels alone.
Isaiah teaches with pictures. Begin with the tent in Isaiah 54:2, and ask why it needs to be bigger.
Pitch the tent
What does Isaiah 54:2 say to do with each part?
Read Isaiah 54:2–3. Isaiah pictures the Lord’s covenant people as a tent that must grow, because so many will be gathered. Match each part with its word, and watch the tent.
“the place of thy tent”
“the curtains of thine habitations”
“thy cords”
“thy stakes”
Match each part of the tent with the word Isaiah 54:2 gives it. You can change any answer.
Meet Him by His names
Which name in Isaiah 54:5 says this?
Read Isaiah 54:5. Isaiah gives the Saviour six names and titles in one verse. Match four of them with what they tell someone who feels alone.
He formed you and knows you completely.
He binds Himself to His people by covenant and does not walk away.
He pays the price to free someone who is lost or in bondage.
No town, school or country is outside His reach.
First complete activity 1, then match the names in Isaiah 54:5.
Finish His promises
How does the Lord end each sentence?
Read Isaiah 54:7–10, 13. Several of the Lord’s promises here turn on one small word. Choose how each sentence really ends.
“For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but …”
“In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but …”
“For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but …”
“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and …”
First complete activity 2, then finish each promise.
