Find what scripture teaches about the body, see how a friend’s choices reach her feelings, gather words that could help her, and shape a private journal page.
Heavenly Father gave us physical bodies as part of His plan. How we care for them affects how we feel now.

Think it through
How might Maya’s choices be affecting her?
In the lesson, Maya “has been feeling tired and discouraged for the last several weeks”. Maya is an example, not a real person. Decide how each choice might be reaching how she feels.
Maya stays up very late most nights.
She is distracted by her phone for long stretches.
Suppose she has also stopped doing anything active.
First complete activity 1, then think about Maya’s choices.
3
Find words for Maya
Which passage could help her most?
Maya says, “I wish I could stop feeling so tired and discouraged all the time.” The lesson asks what could help someone like her understand three things, and where help comes from. All of these passages are true; find the one that answers each need. Open Doctrine and Covenants 88:124, 89:18–20 and Matthew 7:7–11 as you work.
Maya does not see how her choices are affecting her.
Maya wonders why God would care how she looks after her body.
Maya asks what difference it would really make.
Maya says, “I have tried before and I cannot keep it up.”
First complete activity 2, then find words that could help Maya.
For the Strength of Youth: “Your body is sacred”. It says: “Seek help from family, leaders, and trusted professional counselors as needed.”

Take it to the journal
Choices I could make
The lesson asks which choices you could adjust, and how you will involve Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Choose one area to think about and one way to involve Them. You do not need to say why you chose them.
An area to think about:
A way to involve Them:
PRIVATE JOURNAL: Keep the writing outside this app. Nothing you choose is stored or sent; it disappears when the page is refreshed.
Complete activities 1 to 3, then choose one option from each row.
Original teaching aid, not official Church artwork. Copy the layout; the words are yours.
All four activities are complete. This shows activity progress only; it says nothing about you or your choices. What is one thing you would like to remember?
